The aim of this presentation is to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and guidance needed for accurately assessing whether a baby has Cow's Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) and recognizing when it's time to signpost to a specialist dietitian. By detailing the
prevalence, diagnostic criteria, and distinguishing between IgE-mediated and non-IgE-mediated reactions, the presentation aims to reduce misdiagnosis and its associated risks.
I will support primary care professionals to make timely, informed decisions on whether specialist intervention is needed. By ensuring that patients are properly diagnosed and referred correctly, we can optimise treatment outcomes and alleviate the burdens of this condition on both healthcare systems and families.
